Simplified lighting control with Carlo Gavazzi's Dali master
With Carlo Gavazzi's DALI master, previously advanced lighting controls are now made easily, quickly and cheaply. Together with the Smartbuilding controller, it forms a strong platform which is programmed from the same tool, i.e. no use of additional software and decentralized programming of devices.
The Smartbuilding controller handles 7 DALI masters and each DALI master handles 64 ballasts in 16 groups.
The system can handle lighting control in any size building and combines Dupline bus and DALI flexibility in an efficient way.
Benefits DALI master
The Dali Master can be installed centrally or decentralized depending on needs and connected to 230VAC.
Built-in DALI power supply.
Can be programmed with the same software as the application, thus easy maintenance.
All data is available on BACnet.
DALI actuators and Dupline sensors provide a great degree of flexibility.
Cost effective compared to traditional installation.
SB2DALI230 is a DALI Master for Smart Dupline ®. The device can be connected to the Smart Dupline® bus at any point and up to 64 lighting actuators can be connected to the DALI bus output. Up to 7 SB2DALI230 devices can
connected to a Smart Dupline ® bus. The SB2DALI230 is supplied at 230 VAC and has a built-in DALI power supply.
Light control functions such as control of constant light zone and corridor lighting are carried out by
The SBWEB controller that connects to presence detectors, lux sensors and switches via Smart
Dupline®. All physical inputs/outputs, function parameters and control flags are made available as BACnet objects
on BACnet/IP, allowing for easy integration into any BMS system.
The DALI Master SB2DALI230 is part of the SBWEB/Smart Dupline® platform for building automation. The device
aims to provide the user interface for lighting actuators such as ballasts and LED drivers in lighting control systems.
Light control functions, e.g. control of constant light zones and corridor lighting, are performed by the SBWEB controller
which is connected to the DALI Master via Smart Dupline®. Presence detectors, lux sensors and switches
used for lighting control is connected directly to the Smart Dupline® 2-conductor bus which supplies both power and communication
to the connected devices.
The SB2DALI230 is operated at 230 VAC and has a built-in DALI power supply.
Network topology Each DALI Master can have up to 64 DALI actuators connected to the DALI output, and up to 7 DALI Masters
can be connected to one Dupline® bus. Since one SBWEB controller can manage up to 7 Dupline® networks, the total number of
DALI actuators that can be controlled by one SBWEB: 64X7x7 = 3136. But in many cases it may be desirable to
have a SBWEB controller per floor and then link them together via BACnet/IP.
In this way, the system is fully scalable and can handle any amount of lighting fixtures. Addressing and programming Addressing and grouping of DALI actuators is carried out via the PC-based SBWEB programming tool,
so that the entire system is programmed and started from a single user interface. Up to 16 lighting groups can be created for each DALI Master.
When the SBWEB programming tool scans the Dupline ® networks, the DALI Masters are automatically detected
and each one can be identified using the SIN addresses.
During the installation of the DALI Master, you can scan the DALI networks and automatically assign addresses
to the DALI devices. In the setup menu, the lights can be switched on/off individually. This makes it easy to identify
the DALI addresses that have been allocated to the actuators. If desired, it is possible to subsequently exchange addresses between the DALI units.
Functions The lighting control functions are performed by the SBWEB controller. There are a number of predefined functions such as
control of constant light zones, corridor lighting, presence and lux-based control, planning, sequences,
dimming, scenario control, timers, etc. SBWEB provides a BACnet/IP connection that makes it possible to control lighting functions and parameter changes via BACnet objects. This greatly simplifies BMS integration.
For example, each constant light function has a BACnet object that allows the lux setting to be read and changed
